Clinician-led VR exposure therapy

VR Mentality is Ukrainian medical software for VR exposure therapy for PTSD. Clinicians use virtual environments as a therapeutic tool and control exposure during each session.

For psychiatrists, psychotherapists and clinical psychologists treating PTSD within their scope of practice, and organisations providing this care.

The clinical workflow

The clinician assesses whether VR exposure is appropriate for the patient and how it fits into their care plan.

During the session, the patient experiences a virtual environment while the clinician controls exposure through the clinician dashboard.

The clinician monitors the patient’s response and determines the next clinical steps.

Clinical evidence

VR Mentality software was used in a pilot study involving 50 Ukrainian veterans with PTSD. The authors reported reductions in PTSD, anxiety and depression symptoms after a course of VR exposure therapy. Authors included Oleg Chaban and specialists from Bogomolets National Medical University.
